The Efficacy of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Mad in America published an article by José Giovanni Luiggi-Hernández, PhD, summarizing a recent meta-analysis by Leichsenring, F et al. This meta-analysis focused on the effectiveness of psychodynamic psychotherapy as a treatment for a variety of mental disorders such as depression, personality disorders, and anxiety disorders.
While this meta-analysis is the most recent, there have been many others in the past (examples of which can be found here and here). For those interested in learning more, the Mad in America article provides a link to the publication "The status of psychodynamic psychotherapy as an empirically supported treatment for common mental disorders - an umbrella review based on updated criteria."
